ARSON ALLEGED
A CHRISTCHURCH BLAZE FIRE IN EVERY ROOM <F«r Press Association.) CEfRISTCIIURCH, last night. When brigadesmeu entered a house in Norfolk street Ibis evening, to which they laid been called to quell an outbreak of fire, they found unmistakable. evidence that the bouse bad been deliberately set on lire. The alarm was first given 'by a. boy who called at the house on an errand. When the firemen arrived, they found a lire had been started in everv room in (he bouse. The beds bad been saturated with kerosene, which bad also been spilled on the floor. In the .sifting room a mat and armchair had been, soaked, and both were burning. Clothes banging on pegs in the ball were soaked and burning. The. timely arrival of the brigade prevented the destruction of the bouse. Not inucli damage was done. The house was occupied by Robert Thompson Nirrie, and owned by Mrs. I-:. .1. Phillips, of Cbristcburcb. The bouse was insured, but the furniture was not covered. .Nobody was at home when the outbreak occurred.
