LITTLE CHANGE QUOTED SALE AT MATAWHERO Little change was evident in the tone of the market at the Matawhero stock sale to-day. FAT CATTLE

One Jersey cow, very plain, £4; 1 black cow, £3 ss; 5 cows and heifers, P.A.-Hereford cross, prime heavy cows (p), £3 10s; 5 do., Hereford (p), —; 3 light cows, £2; 6 vealers, good Hcrefords, £1 6s. FAT SHEEP

The entry of fat sheep was 337, and there was no change in the market. Prime heavy ewes made to 5s Id, other ewes 3s 4d to 4s lOd, woolly 2 and 4-th ewes, 7s; lambs, 7s to 8s; wethers, 6s 6(1 •to 7s 6d. Second grade ewes were in little demand, making 2s 4d to 2b 6d. Prices:

First grade.—One lamb, 7s; 12 lam’-s, 8s; 6 lambs, 7s 7d; 6 lambs, 7s 7d; 7 lambs, 7s 9d; 7 wethers, 7s sd; 2 wethers, 7s; 6 wethers, 6s 6d; 17 wethers, 7s 6d; 47 prime heavy ewes, 5s Id; 36 do., 5s Id; 16 ewes, 4s; 10 ewes, 2s lid; 6 ewes, 4s 9d; 15 owes, 3s 4<l; 65 ewes, 3s 6d; 12 ewes, 4s lOd ; 4 woolly ewes, 2 and 4-th, 7s. Second grade.—One ewe, 2s 6d; 4 owes, 2s 4d; 24 ewes, 2s 4d. STORE SHEEP There was a large entry, of which 3300 were offered before lunch. Prices were similar to those ruling, lately. Ewes made to 6s 8d for a pen mostly 4-t.ooth. Good ewes of mixed ages ranged from 3s 3d to 4s, 2-th owes made 3s 5d to 6s 7d, wethers 2s 6d for a line with little condition, and a line of good .sized lambs made 4s. Prices :—< Ewes.—7o up to 4yi\, mostly 4-tli, good fresh condition, strong skins, 6s 8d; 72 mouths guaranteed, moderate condition, Is 7d; 62 moderate condition, low mouths, lOd; 104 mouths guaranteed, good store condition, 4s; 78 plain condition, 6d; 144 low mouths, Is lOd; 133 up to syr., fairly good condition, 3s 3d; 80 4-th to syr., good frames, fair condition, 3s sd; 82 up to 6yr., fair condition, Is; 146 syr., fair condition, Is 7d ; 159 4-th to syr., good store condition, 4s.

Two-tooth ewes.—Bl fair size, good condition, 5s Id ; 195 fair size, good store condition, 6s 7d; 37 small, fairly gdod order, 3s sd. Wethers.—39 little condition, 2s 6d: 514 well-grown, good solid condition, ss; 98 good store condition, 5s 6d; 300 2-tli, straight line, fairly good size and condition, 5s 3d.

Lambs.—lß2 straight line, fairly good size and condition, 4s.
