Professor Marshall Allan, of (be chair of midwifery at Mebourho University, arrived in Gisborne last evening from Rotorua, Gisborne was to have been the main objective of his tour of New Zealand, and Professor Allan had come prepared to address here the annual conference of the New Zealand division of the BALA. In lieu of his conference engagement here, the Melbourne authority placed himself in the hands of the B.M.A. executive here, and to-day was faced with a programme comprising a demonstration at St. Helen’s Hospital, an address to women at the Y.M.C.A. rooms this afternoon, and a round-table discussion with members of the medical profession this evening. The programme enables Professor Allen to meet the nursing sisterhood, the womenfolk of the town, and the medical profession in a series of functions calculated to he of general benefit.
