General damages amounting to £1254) were awjvrde'dv Varley Joseph Hellycr, formerly qf Marton, now of New' Plymouth, at*thc Wanganui Supremo Court last evening, m, the case iii which he claimed £2700. general damages and £242 4s Special-damages arising out of a smash between his motor cycle and a car driven by Herbert Morrison, farmer, of Moumahiki, just out of Hawcra, on Labor Day. The hearing of the case occupied two and a half days and the jury retired for twp and a half hours. Mr. L. N. Moss, (New Plymouth) appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. A. D. Brodie (Wanganui) for the defendant The' matter of special 'damages is to be the subject of a hearing at the Court this morning.
