The actual top price went to a sister of the crack two-year-old Amnion Ita, who was purchased by .Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co., as agents, for SuOgns. Eight hundred guineas were paid for a Lirnond colt, a half-brother to Aspian. lie went to Ur. M. <!.' Lottisson. A brother to AgriOn realise,! GiJOgns, being purchased by Mr, G. l>. Greenwood, who formerly raced Agrion. An attractive colt by Caravel from the New South Wales stud of Mr. 11. A. Taylor, was sold for (iOOgns to Mr, .1. T. .laiuieson. Mr. •<:. M. Carrie, of Koatanui stud, secured the top/nveriigc at the sales, J.U lots averaging 2G4gns. The Wcstmere draft of Mr. John Donald produced the largest return, 3()3sgns, at an average for the I" of 170gns. Twenty-eight yearlings bred and reared at Klderslio. averaged I7oglis. The lop price for Kldorslio was 400 guineas, for a half-brother by Tea Tray to Mystic Peak. Chief Holer's top price was DOOgns for a first foal from Comedy Queen, Messrs. .I. W. and 1,. W. Story, of Christchurch, realised fiOOgns, for a line colt by Weathervane from Stardancer. He if; a half-brother to Limelight. The Nightruids \Yf\-v all in paddock condition and. although they did not look so attractive to the eye as the other lots, they were bid up to fair values by keen judges. Nlghtraid's best price was 250gns for a halfbrother to Economist. in all, 148 lots averaged I2Bj|gris for a total of 19,025gn5.
