LONDON WOOL SALES OPENING PRICES CONFIRMED (Received Jan. 22, 3 p.m.) LONDON. Jan. 21. At the wool sales 8447 bales were offered, including 1283 New Zealand, and about 5000 were sold. There was a splendid selection of greasy merinos and a small supply of scoured merino's, all New Zealand sorts. The opening prices were confirmed. There were large withdrawals owing to owners refusing to meet the market. New Zealand greasy crossbred realised.: Ranui 5Jd (highest), s|d (average). RABBIT SION SALES (Received Jan. 22, 3 p.m.) LONDON. Jan. 21. At the rabbit skin sales 2250 were offered and 740 sold. Furriers, best, declined 5 to 10 per cent, compared with November prices; medium 10 to 15 per cent. ; batters, medium to good were unwanted and few sold; at a decline of 35 per cent.; inferior, 15 per cent, decline. Dalgetv and Co. have received the following advice from London, dated January 21:—" Condon tallow market: Prices are nominally unchanged. The next sale will take place on February 4."
