FASHIONABLE WEDDING

SHERRATT—ORMOND Considerable interest waS manifested yesterday in a fashionable marriage which took place at "YValliirgford," Central Hawko's Bay, the home of Mr and Mrs J. D. Ornioml, when the marriage of their second daughter, Miss Sheila Ormond, to Mr William Wray Sherratt, son of Mr and Mrs W. G. Sherratt, of Gisborne, was celebrated. The wedding took place in the large drawing-room, where the aisle and archway was massed with beautiful flowers in apricot tones, interspersed with greenery, and from the centre of the archway hung a huge wedding bell.

The service was a very impressive one. The Rev. E. C. Crosse, of Christ College, Christehurch, performed the ceremony, and was assisted by the Rev. Cameron, of Waipukurau. The music for the service was supplied by a piano and violin, during which hymns were sung. The charming bride was given away by her father and wore a beautiful frock of cream georgette over llcshpink georgette. The skirt fell to the ground and was gauged at the waist and. very flare'd, with flounces at the sides. The bodice had long tailored sleeves and was appliqncd to the waist in a leaf design. The gold brocaded train was secured on the shoulders and fell ill a V-shape to the waist, disclosing the back of the bodice. From the waist the train gradually widened to the bottom and was prettily ornamented with sprays of orange blossom. Cold shoes were worn. The lovely veil of Brussels lace was arranged oil the head in Russian style with orange blossoms, and a bouquet of deep gold roses and ferns was carried.

The little train bearers were Jacqueline Hope, niece of the bride, who wore a frilled frock of apricot organdie, with bonnet to match, trimmed with rOsebuds, and David Ormond, brother of the bride, wore an Eton suit.

There were seven pretty bridesmaids in attendance, the .Misses Kit Ormond (chief), Jacqueline Ormond, Audrey Ormond, Dccinia Ormond, all sisters of the bride; Rosa Trip)), of Timai-u, Flix.abeth Murphy, Gisborne, niece of the bridegroom, and Cynthia Wilson, cousin of the bride. They were all frocked alike in apricot georgette, with very long flared frocks, with tight-iitting bodices, with long sleeves flared from the elbow, and short capes tied in a bow in the front. They wore gold bead chains and belts, and apricot, satin shoes. Their hats had drooping brims and were composed of satin beige straw and were finished with a ribbrfn band. Sheafs of apricot dahlias and ferns were carried.

Mr. John Ormond assisted as best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs. David, Ritchie, Dick Sherratt, cousins of the bridegroom, Pothan Sainsbury, nephew of the bridegroom, and Tom Latham, of Waiiganui. A large marquee, set under the sheltering trees of " Wallingford," and prettily decorated, was used for the reception and afternoon tea, where the usual toasts wore honored. The ma'ny beautiful presents were on view in the large schoolroom. When leaving on the honeymoon the bride looked charming in a powder blue chiffon frocl;, with floral chiffon coat with a. wide collar, blue summer straw hat. to match and lizard-skin shoes.

M.rs J. D. Ormond, the bride's mother, looked handsome in chestnut ln-ovvn lace flared with georgette, long coat and. wide-brimmed hat to tone, and carried it bouquet of golden lilies.
