MARINES AMBUSHED
NICARAGUAN BANDITRY EIGHT KILLED: TWO INJURED .MANAGUA Jan. 1. Eight United States marines were killed and two seriously injured when they were ambushed by bandits said to have been operating in a new offensive under the rebel, General Sandino. Marines have been lighting the bandits almost weekly for months, but this is the first time for over a year that they have suffered heavy losses.
