TUNG OIL INDUSTRY
Increase in Florida Florida’s INTO nurseries are cultivating approximately 50,000,000 plants, accoringi to a report by Mr. J. C. Goodwin, inspector, Who found 13,000,000 citrus seedlings, 14.000,000 ferns, 3,500,000 pecan trees, 900,000 ttmg oil trees and 860,000 grape cuttings. Tung oil showed the greatest increase over last year, when only 133,000 plants were under Cultivation. Tung oil nut growing has seen its most rapid Florida growth in the lust few years and a plant for extracting the oil is in operation near Gainesville. The oil is used in the manufacture of paint.
