ONE FINAL DECIDED ALL SECTIONS ADVANCED All sections of the Poverty Hay and East Coast Lawn Tennis Association s annual tournament were advanced this I morning, ami in one case tho final was decided, this fusing in the ladies’ championship singles. .Miss R. Hopkinson, whose form throughout the tournament lias been sound, won in straight sets after a vigorous match with .Miss M. Bull, tho first set going to B—6. The combined matches, both in the championship and handicap divisions, have hung tire a little owing to the efforts of the executive to have the other sections carried through as far as possible during the first two days’ play. Tiie men's and ladies’ divisions were played at the Gisborne and Whatnupoko courts respectively in their early stages, and this resulted in some difficulty in matching the combined doubles pairs when they were ready to play. However, this morning saw better progress in these sections, and"it was anticipated that by tills evening practically the whole of tlio fixtures would he disposed of.
