OBITUARY
The death took place suddenly at Tangowahine Valley, North Auckland, of Mr. Deter laington, aged 95. Mr. Langton, a pioneer of Northern Wairoa, was born in Dublin, Ireland, and joined the- 18th Royal Irish Regiment. He served in India and arrived in New Zealand with his regiment on the troopship Elizabeth Ann Bright in 18621 lie. fought through the Maori War and then received his discharge.
The death occurred recently in a private hospital in A tick land of Mrs. Lena Jardine, sister of Miss Ruby Burns, both of whom were old residents of Gisborne. Mr. /Herbert Burns is a brother of the deceased.
