RIVAL ORGANISATION POSITION TO. BE REOPENED (Fer Press, Association.) YVEiLLINGTON, this day. In a statement issued to-day, Mr- Rw. MeVitly, resident of the New Zealand Amateur Atbleifij Association, deals with certain statements regarding the position of the control of cycling in the Dominion that have been issued lately by, officials of tho New Zealand Union of Cyclists., , . , ' Mr. McYilly declares that the whole position of central in New: Zealand has f>een misreptesented to the cycling authorities ofetseasy and points out that cable, advice was received this week that the temporary affiliation granted to the -New Zealand Union of Cyclists by the Union Cyclists Internationale is to be reviewed, and the, whole, matter reopened. Briefly, he states, the position of the sport ip New Zealand is that the N.Z.A.A.A. controls, 90 per cent, of the active amateur cVclists in New Zealand, that; the Now Zealand association will continue activities in the amateur field, and riders under its. control will have full protection or organisation, and that the question as to who will have formal control of tbd sport is being investigated by the ; National Union of Cyclists of New Zealand, which body wilt report to the ■ Cvcjists’ Internationale- The N-Z-A-AliA. has-every, confidence as to the outcome of this investigation.
