SWIMMING

INTER-SCHOOL RACES ANOTHER GOOD CARNIVAL

Continuing ibo efforts to raise funds for essential services at the Gisborne Central School, which the subsidies receivable from the Education Department do not- cover, the staff and pupils of the institution to-day held another swim nung carnival, at which were present a number o,f swimmers from the other schools in the town and suburbs, including the Gisborne High School. The carnival was as successful as either of its predecessors, and the accommodation for spectators was taxed to the utmost, many of those looking on at the events being parents of the contestants.
