The iirst warning of the tragedy was when they saw .Miss Dommctt fall ami float down the rapids. Ferguson had dropped into deep water from her arms. As the children could do nothing, one hastened for help and the others went alter the teacher, \yiio was dragged out unconscious some distance down the stream. Nearby settlers came on the scene as soon as possible and got, the hoy out of the hole and tried artificial respiration on both, but unsuccessfully.
