It was announced at a meeting of the Unemployment Board to-day that Mr. Malcolm Fraser, Government Statistician, would act as chief executive officer. —B.A. As the result of representations by the Tuuranga County Council regarding nearly 8000 acres of unoccupied lands in the county, the owners of which cannot be traced, the Minister has signified Ins anxiety to assist in the settlement, and lithe Commissioner of Crown Lands proSoßen taking action to bring them under We Crown k with a view to their disposal. A schedule prepared by the county clerk shows 82 properties m all rulings of the country. In some eases rates have been aceuring since 1669. 11 1 ere are, in addition to the lands stated-, largo amis awaiting development.
