TIDES AT GISBORNE WHARF

SHIPPING DEPARTURES Friday, November 14. Paknra, s.s. (3.45 p.in.), 700 tons, Coldicutt, for Wellington. The Wannea loads at, Auckland on Monday and Tuesday for Gisborne and Napier, and is due here on Thursday morning. The Wainui, with cargo from southern ports for Napier and Gisborne, was expected to leave Wellington to-day, and is due here on Wednesday. The Gab riel la was to load coal at Newcastle this week for l’icton, Napier, and Gisborne.

The Aorangi, which cleared Vancouver on Wednesday, leaves Honolulu next Wednesday, and Suva on November 28, arriving at Auckland on December 1. Sho sails the next day for Sydney, where she is due on December 6.

The Niagara, -from Sydney, clears Auckland on Tuesday for Suva, Honolulu, and Vancouver, and is due at Vancouver on December 5. The Makura, from Sydney and Wellington, via Rarotonga and_ Papeete, arrives at San Francisco on November 21. The Maunganui, from San Francisco, Papeete, and Rarotonga, is due at Wellington on Monday, and sails the next, day for Sydney, where she will arrive on November 22. • The Monowni is to leave Wellington on December 2 on her first trip in the U.S.S. Co.'s service. She is clue at Rarotonga on December 6, Papeete two days later, and San Francisco on December 19. The Port Waikato is expected to arrive at Gisborne this evening with coal and general cargo from Newcastle, via Timaru and Wellington.

The Parent is due here to-night from Tokomarn Bay, and sails on Monday for Lyttelton with livestock. Tim Paknra was dispatched yesterday afternoon for Wellington, where sho loads again on Monday and Tuesday for Napier and Gisborne. The Awahou loads at Auckland for Gisborne on Monday and Tuesday, and is due here on Thursday.

• The Tiroa left Napier last night for Tolaga ' Bay, where she was duo at. noon to-day to discharge shingle, She is expected to arrive here latte to-night. The Margaret W is due at Auckland to-night from Gisborne and Coast hays, and loads there on Monday and Tuesday for Coast hays and Gisborne. She is due here on Thursday morning. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.’s steamer Tainui, which completes loading at Gisborne this evening and sails for Napier, will leave the latter port on her final departure overseas at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 20. THE WEATHER (Last Night’s Forecast). A deep depression now covers the Tasiimn Sea, the centre line being near to the south-west extremity of New Zealand. Barometers are rising over eastern Australia,. Wind's : Strong northerly winds to gales, hacking later to west and south-west in the tar south. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rather rough generally, Tasman Stea: Strong northerly winds in the eastern Tasman, hacking to west and south-west in about 24 hours:; seas rough. Weather: Becoming unsettled generally with some, rain. Temperatures mild but becoming cooler iu the far south in the morning; unsettled weather probable during the week-end. (To-day’s North Island Report.) Blue slues wore reported at Gisborne, Napier, and Auckland this morning, but conditions elsewhere in the North Island were overcast. A moderate northwesterly gale was blowing at Cape Campbell and Wellington, a northerly gale at Tiritiri, and moderate northerly breezes elsewhere. The barometer had commenced to fall again. Temperatures at 9 o’clock; were: Auckland and Web lingtop 60 degrees, Tauranga 63, Opoliki 62, Bust Cape 64, Gisborne 70, and Napier 73. Rough seas were reported at Wellington, Castlepoint, and Tiritiri; moderate or smooth elsewhere. (Midday Forecast) The indications are, for northerly winds, strong to gale after 24 hours and hacking by west to south. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled. Rain probable and indications for electrical disturbances. The weather will probably become warmer. Barometer falling slowly. Seas rough. Tides good.
