CATTLE INDUSTRY
REVIVAL IN NORTH AUSTRALIA The cattle industry in Queensland and North Australia is rapidly recovering from the stagnation caused hv the. prolonged drought. The land now is like a gadren with luxuriant herbage, shrubs, and wild (lowers, in marked contrast to. the ruin and desolation of two years ago. The cattle market in North Australia lias been very active in recent months, as cattle men in the fattening belts of the Georgina and Diamnntina country are restocking to replace their drought losses. Most of the big leases arc held by companies, and wealthy owners, who can afford to obtain stock, so that before long this area should be producing beef in quantity once again.
