SHIPLEY BY-ELECTION GAIN FOR CONSERVATIVES (K)ec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Nov. 8. noon) LONDON, Nov. 7. The by-election for the Shipley division of Yorkshire resulted in a victory for the Conservative candidate, the seat having formerly been held by a Labonte. Mr. William Mackinder, whose death in September necessitated the present contest. Voting at the by-election resulted as follows :

The Conservative victory at Shipley is possibly the most notable tor many years, the seat having been, held continuously hv Labor since the 1923 elections, and’ previously by successive Liberal candidates for very many years. At the last general'election voting was as follows:- ■
