The damage to the steamer Tort Nicholson, which necessitated her being docked at. Port Chalmers for repairs, occurred on October 21, when the vessel as she was proceeding up Victoria Channel was caught by a gust of wind and driven on to rocks at Quarantine Isjaiid.
