COAL MINE TRAGEDY
DEATH ROLL REACHES 76 OFFICIAL PARTY INCLUDED SURVIVORS BADLY GASSED (Klee. Tel Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Nov. 7, 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 6. A Midfield* Ohio, report states that the complete mine death toll is 76, with a possibility of further deaths from injuries. The dead included all the mem bers of ail official inspection party, among whom was Air. William Titus, president of the Sunday Creek Co. On Wednesday night 26 men were rescued alive. Six ot those rescued are m serious condition from gas. Twenty others found alive in the workings are to be brought out later. Alillfield physicians were rushed into the mine to treat’ 20 survivors of the blast. Alost of those rescued are reported to be in a bad condition from gas. Doctors feared pneumonia if the men were brought to the surface. Twenty bodies have already been recovered.
