The club was not represented at the Hawke’s Bay provincial championships, blit, on behalf of the centre, conducted one event, namely the lEOvds. provincial backstroke championship, which was won by D. Miller. During the year the club continued its policy Of free tuition classes, the sue cess of which was very evident “It is with keen apprtaation that the club lias noticed that a frtove to have public baths in Gisborne is n6w a determined effort, atid commends the Macrae Bath Committee and. Gisborne Borough Council for their action taken in this matter. “For the coining year prospects are very bright, notwithstanding the formation of the third club in Gisborne. \\ e wish to welcome the formation of the Y.M.C.A. club at this stage, and. trust that its entry into the active side of natatorial sport will help to sustain tins sport in a more established and conCrete form in disboriie.
