The M.C.C. cricketers, including six amateurs and seven professionals, with Mrs. Chapman, arrived and were warmly welcomed. Chapman stated that the team was very lit. If the South Africans were of the same quality as the Springboks who toured England, Hie rubber would not so readily go to England as many people imagined. England was training younger men in anticipation for Hie next Australian four. The team, with Miss Peggy Duncan, the Channel .swimmer, lunehevl with the Mayor. SHEFFIELD SHIELD PLAY QUEENSLAND’S EASY WIN BRISBANE, Nov. 3. In the Sheffield Shield match, South Australia in the second innings made JIM (Lee not out 57); Gilbert took two for 76 and Oxenham three for 00. Queensland, in the second innings, lost three for 88 (Biggs -17). Queensland won by seven wickets.
