The newspapers state that Sir Arthur Kostron, iMinmodore of the (’imard Line, and one of the bestknown commanders <m the Atlantic service, has decided to retire next year. Sic Ai-tliur Most ron commands the Mereagaria, now being relit ted, and previously commanded the Mauretania, for 20 years the fastest ship on the Atlantic. lie is said lo have saved more lives than any other sea captain, among them being 7 1 >.'» survivors of the Titanic. He was knighted four years ago, and shortly afterwards received tin' freedom of New York city.
