SUPREME COURT BUSINESS SITTING NEXT WEEK A light calendar of business _ has been prepared for the quarterly sitting of the Supreme Court, which will open in Gisborne on Tuesday next, at 1U.50 a.in. His Honor Mr. Justice Reed will probably preside. The following is the list of business, subject to addition before the opening of the session: criminal —For Trial— John Lionel Baker (Mr. R. 15. Hill), alleged cattle stealing (re-trial). Arthur Ernest Donald (Mr. Hill), alleged unlawful use of instrument. Pahi Huaki (Mr. A. A. Whitehead), alleged carnal knowledge. —For Sentence— Puku Stevens, breaking and entering and theft. Ani Kouka, arson. Rihara Mauheni, forgery. Tuhina Matehe, breaking and entering and theft by night, three charges; breaking and entering by night with intent, one charge. CIVIL BUSINESS Before Judge alone Evelyn Laurence Jones (Mr. S. V. Beaufoy) v. the Cook County Council (Mr. ,1' Blair), claim for £llOO damages for Hfcariah rights and injunction. IN DIVORCE Jessie Cnmelia Lewis (Mr. G. Bradley Smith) v. James Lewis, on the ground of desertion. Harold Walter Symes (Mr. J. S. Wauchop) v. Elsie Kathleen'Symes (Mr. L. T. Burnard), motion for decree absolute. IN BANKRUPTCY Motions for discharge: Sydney Robert Hillyard (Mr. K. A. Woodward), Antonio Zame (Mr. Burnard), William Elliot (Mr- J- W. Blathwayt), George Henry Lvsnar.
