Congratulations were Forwarded to the Poverty Hay union on the success of its junior team in the minor Harry Cup game, played in (lishorne. and also on the win of the primary school team from Ciishorne, in its match wilh the Wairoa primary school representatives, in five. curtain-raiser 1 to the major Hurry Cup fixture.
There were present al the com mi t,too moetinn Messrs. A. (!. Nolan, chairman: 11. E.'"* Stanton, R. lioodley, R. Vsillanee. W. 11. Flint, C R. Sainsbury, T. French, and .1. Scot!, secretary. It was decided to advise Ihe Poverty Hay union that Seplcmlver 6 is a, satisfactory date for the visits ~f the poverty Hay juniors and third grade, team to .Wairoa, and thai the third pade game could start, at 1.30 p.m. anc'i the junior match at 3 o'clock, the financial arrangements between the union and the sub-union being on the same basis as Ihe. exchange of visits between the senior teams.
The selector was asked to asxmible a leant for the visit to Toftomaru Hay on Saturday next For Ihe game with the Kasl Coast representatives. Mr. ('. R. Sainsbury was appointed mumi,ger of il\c team, which, it- was decided, will leave Wairoa at 6 p.m. on Friday, staying overnight at Oisborne and continuing on to Tokomaru Rayon Saturday morning. The question of arranging transport was left in tiie bands of the. manager.
It was mentioned thai a challenge was being thrown out to the junior representatives who played in (lishorne for the Barry Cup. and Mr. It. Goodley was authorised to select a team from those. submitting the challenge, for the purposes of a. game on the home ground on Saturday.
Permission was given to the Morere juniors to play the Athletic team from Gisborne in Nuhaka on September 13. The Morere club was instructed to make arrangements for the use of the Nuhaka showgrounds, and meet the ground fee.
In connection with the series of senior representative games played throughout ihe season, Mr. E. J. Nash, of Frasertown. offered to donate two gold medals, for Ihe best forward and the best, back respectively, Mr. French, the sub-union senior selector, was asked to nominate the recipients of the trophies, for the donation of which Mr. Nash was accorded ;i hearty vote of thanks. Fixtures for Saturday were, arranged as follows:
Seniors: Wairoa. v. Kasl- Coast, at Tokomaru Bay-
Juniors : Harry Cup representatives v. The Rest, No." 1 ground. Wairoa, -a.t 3 p.m. Thirds: Pirates v. W.D.H.S. Old Hoys, on No. 1 giround, tit 1.30 p.m. : Old Hoys v. Wanderers, on No. 2 ground, al 3 p.m.
