PREPARATION OF REPORT NO UNNECESSARY DELAY READY IN ABOUT THREE WEEKS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received May 3, noon.) LONDON, May 2. Sir John Simon, chairman of the Indian Statutory Commission, denied today that there bad been any undue delay in tho issue of the report of the commission. Ho said ; “The larger part of the report is not only in tho printer’s hands, but if, is in flu: final form for production, and what remains is in an advanced slate. It ought to be remembered that the commission could not enter upon the preparation of its report, which necessarily lias To cover a vast range of questions, including many which are quite as important as tTrose prominent in public notice until last September, after joint sittings which the Indian Central Committee in London concluded. The commission, consisting of seven members, was appointed in November, 1927.
