In tlie .Supreme Court to-day, Mr, Justice Kennedy imposed sentences on sevoi a) prisoners. ; John Joseph Whittv, for attempted carnal knowledge and indecent assault, ■ three offences being committed in 1927, ■viis ordered ( w\> years’ detention in a !.Borstal institution. j. James Revert Stanley Southerland and i George Frederick Seipeant were senItemed for breaking and entering and theft. Southerland received two years in a Borstal institution, and Sergeant, on account of his youth, was placed on ; probation for throe years. William Robert Gibson, an ex-student, .for breaking and entering, with intent, J to commit n crime, was placed on proK'iJ.tion, and ordered to pay the costs of the .tril-1.. „ . ' Uolin Raymond Wills, for indecent n<rsmilt on a female, was committed to Borstal detention for two years. . Ibert Robert Wiho.vson, for breaking nnd enteritis'-and theft, was sentenced to , two years’ reformative detention. Jolin r J'eer Paferson received a similar sentence for attempted carnal knowledge of n girl aged nine years.
