A movement is on foot to form in Condon a Masonic Lodge comprised of New Zealanders. An application has been made for a charter, and it, is hoped that the initiation of the lodge will lake place on An/.ac Day.
Leaves of the lcawakawa trec—the symbol of mourning—are to he wrought ns the design of the bronze wreath to lie placed on the cenotaph at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Part of the beautiful Maori proverb, believed to have emanated from Ha.waiki, “Kia Mate To a” (to die gloriously), will be the motto incorporated in the design.
