EASTER TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND RESULTS Finality was reached on Saturday afternoon in the lirst round of the Easter tournament of the Poverty Bay Golf Club, the results of the qualifying round being published in Saturday's issue. Ideal golfing weather prevailed, and the course, was in good order. Details of the first round are given below : S. F. Clare beat A. G. Lancaster, 4 and 3; E. Jenkinson heat I). McLaughlan, 4 and 2; It. Barker beat R. E. Ga.inbrill, 6 and 4; C. H. Veils beat C. 0. Hansen, 7 and 5; G. H. Seddon heat R. W. J.. Edwards, 6 and S;:E. Ross beat J. G. Thompson, 4 and 3; J. Kav beat A. A. Whitehead, 6 and 5; W. Rangi .heat L., Balfour, 2 and 1. ] IANDICAB . TOURNAMENT A handicap tournament was. played by members who failed to qualify lor the Easier tournament, the results of the lirst round being as under:— C. H. Bull heat G. M. Reynolds, 2 up; T. Bohatu heat J. S. Barns-Graham, 1 up; A. H. Collett heat T. A. N. Corson, 5 and 4; E. Mclldowie heat K. (it. 3 and 2; R. Halbert heat H. D. Chrisp, at the 19th ; J. 11. Dohhie heat F. Foote, 5 and 4; J. Barns-Graham heat IT. W. Barker, 3 and 2; A. F. Salmon beat C. V. O Connor, 4 and 2. Otilv 13 of the ahovementioned players qualified on Saturday the three additional players being F. Foote, C. 3'. O’Connor, and TL W. Barker. CANTERBURY TITLE (Per Press Association.) ' CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The Canterbury amateur golf championship was won by F. Bulte, of Victoiia, who beat W. Dobson in the playoil’ yesterday.
