DOMINION TOURNAMENT , (Per Press Association.) 1N V T K BGA R 0 ILL, last night. . The Dominion chess tournament was continued on Saturday, when a further ; x games were played by most competitors. 'J lie fact that 19 players ate taking part in Iho tournament has made this necessary in each round, and some players have consequently not completed all the games in the six rounds played. Some very keenly contested games were witnessed by a fair number of
spectators. The most sensational ’play of the day was the defeat of J. Lucas (Dunedin), and ex-champion,, by D. Colderwood (Hamilton), present champion, in both games. J. Boreham (Dunedin), air e.X-cliampion and a piaver of long experience, with a fine knowledge of in-plav. now shares lirst place with Cnblcrwood. W. O’Malley (Port Chalmers) having taken a game off Boreham. O’,Malloy’s success was regarded as a feat of considerable importance. So far (t. A. Brown (Christchurch) and •). B. Clark, also of Christchurch, are the only players without losses.
