SOUTH ISLAND MEETING THREE MATCHES DECIDED (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, this day. ■The- South Island championship rifle meeting opened at Vernon range yesterday under perfect conditions. Except for the prizewinners, the shooting was mediocre. Three matches were finished yesterday, and a start'made with the .service matches, which will Le continued to-day. Results: Canterbury match, 10 shots at 300 yards; possible 50; A grade: £4, J. McCallum, Blenheim, 47; £3, H. H. Mawley, Opaki, 47; £2, W. Michener, Nelson, 46. Seven took £l, with scores from 45 to 44, and 12 took 10s, with scores from 44 to 43. Seven were counted out. B grade: £2, T. Lambert, Kailuna, 45; 30s, J. D. Edmonds, Cbristcburcb, 45; £l, C Pickering, Opaki,, 44. Westland match, 10 shots at 500 yards; A grade: £4, A. R. Barker. Honga, 49; £3. L. C. Neal, Ronga, 49- £2 A. J. Hadiield, Kaituna, 48; £l, F.
