N.S.W. RAILWAY CRISIS
INCREASE IN HOURS MEN ACCEPT PROPOSALS ■SYDNEY, April 18:., It is now estimated that 13,000 railway and tramways employees have , accepted the' proposals of the Railway Commissioner, Mr. Cleary, ,to meet the economic depression in tho service. The men had either to accept , a 48-hours' week, with no increase in salary and rationing of the work, Otr 44-kours, with a reduction of four hours' pay weekly. In Brisbane, an application has been lodged with the Industrial Court; by the Public Service Commissioner and the Commissioner of Railways for a 48-hours' week.
