POVERTY BAY AT NAPIER HAWKE'S BAY START WELL (Special to tin! Herald.) NAIMKft, this day. Poverty Bay ami Hawke's Bay cricket teams, senior ami junior, were engaged in matches at Napier to-day, play commencing under ideal weather condii ions. In the senior game Hawke's Bay batted first, and made an excellent showing, -IS runs having being scored for the loss of seven wickets by 2..10 p.m. Worker was the most, successful batsman, compiling' 99 with his ■wicketstill intact. Stevens scored o 4 before being dismissed by Locked. Poverty Bay juniors collapsed badly, the whole team being dismissed for 44 runs. Hawke's Bay al lunch had scored 12.1 for one wicket down.
