COMPETITOR HURT MISHAP AT SPORTS The only serious spill to mar the success of the racing at the Ngatapa Spurts Club's meeting to-day, was recorded in connection* with the 10-lap championship ra'.'c, the victim being G. Brown, who ou the back stretch pitched from his machine, and struck the fence on the outside of the Course. Attention was given to him by the St. .John Ambiilanco Brigade, and al'tor a time the ambiilanco was summoned from GisbOrue. The injured man was unconscious for a \<>nsiderablo time after the accident, and his appearance gave the impression that he was suffering from serious injuries. The. accident cast a gloom over the majority of those present. Mr. Brown had a spill earlier in I lit" day, falling without injury in the lirsl heat of the Ngatapa handicap. When he suffered the more serious mishap he was in the act of taking the lead from J. McLcod.
