GOVERNMENT’S NEED
more business men DIFFICULTIES TO FACE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A strong appeal for business men to enter Parliament was made at a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce by the Hon. J. B. Donald, Minister of Trade and Commerce. Reference, lie said, had been made to the desire for less government in business. With that he agreed. What was really wanted was more business men in the Government. He went on to say that the C.O.D. trading system had been abolished by the Government, and next session they hoped to do away \v ith most of the evils of cash order trading. He realised that they were facing dillicult times, and the Government would be only too glad to have the assistance of business men. He thought it was a pity that there were not more of them in Parliament, but how many were prepared to make the necessary sacrifices? The Government was facing difficulties which the majority of those present did not realise, and there was a call for rfien'of ability to help solve the problems of the Government in the same way as they solve business problems.
