LABOR DISPUTE

SUPPORT POE ALLIANCE (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. In an address last night Mr. Arthur Cook, national president of the Alliance of Labor, dealt with workers’ compensation, and explained the Alliance’s attitude to the compensation committee of inquiry, Mr. J. Roberts, the Alliance secretary, also addressed the <jk meeting on the right of the worker to employment or sustenance. A resolution was carried that this meeting of Dunedin trade unionists endorses the Alliance’s action in refusing to co-operate with the committee, as the Government should have consulted the trade unions in the appointment of a workers’ representative.
