(Special to the .flarald.) 11.UAT0PJA, this day. To-day dawned line but cloudy for the continuation' of t)ie Maori tennis tournament. Play was postponed yesterday owing to the heavy rain, but it is hoped that the tournament will ho advanced several stages this afternoon. In the men’s singles,, E. Howell has wqn four sets, defeating W. McKay in the fourth round. P. H. Jones, who had a bye in the first round, has reached the semi-final, and was matched with li. Howell in the fourth round. Tupere is’ to meet T. It. Turei. P. llowcll, the present holder of the singles championship, is to meet P. Kaua. Miss T. D. Newton is the probable winner, of the ladies’ singles. She meets Miss Rota in the third round. Up to to-day only three sets have been played in,the men’s doubles., ■ , In the semi-finals of the _ ladies’ doubles, Misses Newton and Kennedy are to meet Mrs. Kuru and Miss Gillie?, Other third round games are yei to ho played.
