READY TO RESUME
THE NAVAL CONFERENCE HOPES FOR REDUCTIONS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received March 8, 10 a.m.) LONDON, March 7. With the arrival oi’ the French delegation, apart from M. Tardicu, who has gone to the flood areas to organise relief, everything is ready for the full resumption of the Naval Conference meetings. Mr. MacDonald conferred with M. Briand to-night.
The most important event to-day hearing on the conference was the publication of .the British naval estimates.
The League of Nations Union passed a resolution reaffirming its conviction that owing to the security provided by the League covenant and the Pact of Paris, the Naval Conference should result in a large all-round reduction of armaments. It is appealing to Air MacDonald to use his full resources, authority and influence to restore the confident atmosphere in which the conference began its labors.
