PERILOUS OCCUPATION
PARIS TAXI-DRIVERS EPIDEMIC OF MURDERS PARIS, Feb. 13. Taxi-driving is becoming one of the most perilous occupations in Paris. Another tnximnn was murdered and robbed to-day. Two youths, aged 20 and 17 years respectively, hailed a taxi at tiie Uare du Nord, and asked to be driven to Crcil. When outside the city one opened me window and shot the driver in the temple, and ho fell on the wheel dead. The car ran into a hedge, where the assassins robbed him of 30s and made off, leaving tiie taxi and corpse on the roadside. The police traced the assailants within a few hours.
When brought to the police station, •crowds of taxi-men made an attempt to secure the murderers, ln.it the police protected them. There have been many almost identical attacks in the past mv months.
