Also started: Hamilton No 2. Won by six inches in a magnificent finish. Tiind, 11.0. Wairau took the lead at the strut, but Star drew level at the end of a quarter of a mile, and had a lead ot a ; length after going another quarter. There was a great contest between Hamilton and Star over the last hall' uiile, and ended in the river crow getting a verdict by the smallest possible margim „ , . 0 Junior fours: Avon 1, Blenheim 2, Union 3. Also started: Aramoho, Won by a quarter of a length, the third crew being well back- Time, 9.45 4-5.
