£20,000 COMPENSATION
LAND TAKEN BY CROWN (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON; last night. The Compensation Court reserved its decision on Thursday alternoon at the conclusion of evidence in the case in which Joseph lienrys claimed £40.000 compensation for land taken by proclamation at Quinton’s Corner. Mr. Justice ’Blair, in giving his judgment yesterday, said that the evidence given 'bv the valuers, who had disregarded the varying depths of the sections fronting on Lnmbton Quay,, in arriving at their prices per foot, had been of little, if any assistance to the court. The court awarded in full compensation £26.000. As to interest, the question had been settled between 'the parties by the Grown agreeing to pay.
