AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION (Per Preaa Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. At a meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Cricket Association the preliminary report on the gate takings of the Auckkiud-M.CC. match showed that a, profit of between £3OO and £320 had been made. The question of It. W. Rowntrec being unavailable for the M.C.C. match was discussed in committee. It was decided lo hold a special meeting on Thursday night to deal with the matter, when a full statement of (he committee's decision would be given to the press. 'the advisability of playing the coach, Wensley. in (he Auckland representative team was questioned by Mr. \V. Harwood, who moved: "That (he selection committee should select a younger, it a slightly inferior, player." The motion lapsed for want of a seconder, Mr. N- C. Sneddon saying that the advice and example the young representatives received from the coach during the game was of infinitely more benefit than a season's coaching, and it would far outweigh the fact of leaving younger local players oul.
