ANCIENT EGYPTIAN TOMB 45 STATUES RECOVERED (Elec. TeJ. Copyright—Unitod Press Assn.) (Received Feb. 11, 11 a.in.) CAIRO, Feb. 10. Egyptian excavators discovered the largest tomb yet unearthed in Egypt. It belonged to Ra O.urer, High Priest of the Goddess Nekheb, who flourished in the reign of Neferririkara, third king of the fifth * dynasty, in 2730, B.C. The tomb consists of three large halls, 80 small chambers, and 30 places for the erection of statues to it'lie dead. Forty-five statues were recovered, mostly perfect. A man’s dismembered hand was found inserted in a coffin With a mummy. A handless skeleton lying nearby is presumed to be that of a robber killed by the subsidence^of the tomb’s ceiling while attempting to rifle the -mummy's necklace of precious stones. Ra (hirer is also described in the inscriptions as the “major-domo of the palace, Master of the Royal Wardrobe, King’s Barber, Prince of the Pot, and Master of Ceremonies.”
