WALKER DEFEATS EBERT (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. The professional wrestling season opened to-night when George Walker, British Empire and Canadian heavyweight champion, defeated Fred. Ebert, heavyweight champion of Austria, by two falls to one. Walker secured the Hirst fid 1 in tlio second round with an armlock and body scissors. filbert evened ’in Hie fourth round wjtll a fall by means of a back loop slant. The deciding ftill came in the sixth round, when Walker lifted his opponent bodily,' hurled him to the canvas, and then pinned him. It was a strenuous, exciting bout, with a fair amount of roughness. At the opening of the sixth round, Walker threw the Austrian right out of the ring. There was y large attendance of the public, which became thoroughly roused on several ocesuions.
