17 ARRESTS

STUDENTS WITH BOMBS FIERY MANIFESTO CALCUTTA, Jan. 27. A round-up of revolutionaries was made in Calcutta to-day. Seventeen students who were found in possession of bomb-ma king materials' were arrested. A resolution, advocating civil disobedience anil the non-payment of taxes as a sure means of evading Ihe "inhuman rule" of the British; has been distributed throughout India. The resolution has been translated into hundreds of languages and dialects. Three of the arrested students were absconders", for wliom the police were searching for some months since the political dacoity committed in the Kajshahi district (Bengal). The arrests are significant in view of to-day's demonstration throughout India in favor of independence.
