The State Labor Party conference has decitled in favor of an immediate 44-hour week being made a plank of the Federal Labor platform. The motion also suggested that the State Act be amended so make i v a penal offence to work more than 44 hours in one week. The conference also passed a resolution advocating the total abolition of all forms of piecework, bonuses, or payment by results, and urging an equal living wage for both sexes. The Federal Government was strongly criticised by some delegates for its alleged lack of courage in connection'with the coal troubles. ',..' , ■
