France has not delayed Jong in taking retaliatory action to Australia's imposition of increased duties on French spirits and wine. Tho "Journal Oflicicl" publishes a decree raising the French import duties on Australian butter and wheat, practically trebling tho previous rates. Not a great amount of Australian wheat has been imported into France recently as the harvests have been good, hut there arc occasional imports of fair-sized parcels of butter, which the new duties will make impossible in future.
