FRANCE RETALIATES BUTTER AND WHEAT (Eldc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Ashii.) (Received February 10, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 9. France has not delayed Jong in taking retaliatory action to Australia's imposition of increased duties on French spirits and wine. Tho "Journal Oflicicl" publishes a decree raising the French import duties on Australian butter and wheat, practically trebling tho previous rates. Not a great amount of Australian wheat has been imported into France recently as the harvests have been good, hut there arc occasional imports of fair-sized parcels of butter, which the new duties will make impossible in future.
