Mr am] Mrs Smart and family, of RakauroM, spent the holidays on the Hats. Commander G. C. F. Branson, R.X. (retired), was a [passenger to Southampton by the Rangitata. Mr. Justice MacGrpgor, accompanied by Mrs. MacGregor and Miss C. G. MacGregor, left Wellington for England by the Rangitata on Saturday. Mrs .McLaughlin and family, of Rakauroa, have returned from an enjoyable holiday spent in the Waikato district. Rowley, a former resident of Cisborue, lias returned from her Inline in Parncll, Auckland, and is at present a. guest of Mrs. F. Wade, of Whitaker stree't. Mr. J. N. Nalder, registrar of the Supreme Court, commenced his annual leave to-day, and left Gisborne this morning on a motor tour of the North Island. He will be absent for three weeks. Mr. .1. M. Ferriday, stock iuspector lit Tolaga Hay, has' been transferred to the Thames district to .succeed Mr. 1L Denize, who will be posted at Ha went. MY. Ferriday anticipates leaving Tolaga Ray at tho beginning of next month. Mr. Frank O'Sullivan, representative for Messrs. J. C. Williamson, Ltd., ■is at present in Gisborne making 'arrangements for a season of musical plays. The attractions are, "Desert Song," " Lilac Time," "Student Prince." and "Maid of the Mountains," and the season will be inaugurated on Tuesday, February 18. 1 The Yen. Archdeacon Herbert Wiljlituu Williams was consecrated to the office of Bishop of Waiap.u at St. John's Church, Napier, yesterday morning. Clergy from, all parts of New Zealand, including the Archbishop of New Zealand, Archbishop Averill, assisted in the ceremony. The ceremony of installation took place at night. Members of St. John Ladies' Guild, Mangftpapa. met on Friday afternoon at the residence of Mrs. D. McK'oague.. who. with Mr. MeKcague. is leaving for England at the end of this month. The fuiiclion took <he form of a farewell afternoon. On behalf of the guild, Mrs. K. Trowell presented Mrs. MeKcague with a suede handbag as a parting gift.
