CHAMPION PAIRS CONTEST TE KARAKA WIN FINAL To Karaka representatives, Auld and Murray, emerged the winners in the pairs championship of the Gisborne lion ting Centre, held yesterday on ihe Poverty Hay Club's green. Eight teams competed, and play reached a high standard. In the final, Tc Karaka were matched against the Gisborne Club’s players, Clark and Sinclair, and the game was of an interesting nature. The teams were level at the Kith, head, but thereafter the country bowlers never left the derision in doubt. They played consistently throughout the'competition, and their win was popular. The green was in good order. Details of the play are given below, the early games having been published in yesterday’s issue: tSenii-linals: Gisborne (Clark and .Sinclair) 20 v. Strangers (Paltridgo and Wootton) Id; To -karaka (Auld and Murray) IS v. Poverty Bay (Holland and Somervell) 17. Final: To Karaka II) v. Gisborne 17. Consolation match.—-First round: Tokomaru Bgy 2d v. Wairoa IS; Kahutia 27 v. Tolaga Bay Id. Final: Kalnitia 20 v. Tokomaru Bay 15.
