A return bi the postal revenue for the quarter ended December 31, :li)2i>, published in the Gazette, shows the -total postal revenue at £38!),300, com* pared witli £875,770 for'the same period the previous year. The total telegraphic revenue was £010,446 and £56fj,21>6 respectively. The postal revenue at the four main centres was as '.follows:— Auckland, £84,744; Wellington, £72,388; Christ - church, £38,878; Dunedin, £2ojlii»'. The telegraphic revenue was: Auek land, £153,483: Wellington, £127,413.; Christchurch, £U4,472; Dunedin, £20,027. The savings bank returns for, the same period show an excess of withdrawals over deposits of £367,708, and for the corresponding period of li>2B £400,370. • -.The total amount of uV posits ;for, the .quarter (1!>28 figures being lit pUrentheses) was £7,1C6,527 (6,784^78 h and withdrawals £7,0807905 (£7,167,755).
